The Future

Over one hundred years ago Henry Ford created the Model T, one of this century’s engineering design classics. In celebration of 100 years Ford issued a challenge for students around the worked to design a model T for the 21st century.

The Ford Nucleon concept car of 1958 was designed to be powered by a small nuclear reactor. The car didn’t progress past a interesting motorshow mockup.

The joint winners of this global competition were Deakin University in Geelong and a team from Aachen University of Cologne Germany.
