The FG Falcon brought new nameplates to the market, the Fairmont and Fairmont Ghia names were replaced with G Series. There where three distinct looks to the FG Falcon, The Forte, The XR with its sporty bumper, grille and scalloped headlights and the G Series with its striking grilles and driving lights. The FG brought new levels of quality, style and comfort to the market and a 5 star safety rating and features such safety devices as driver and front passenger airbags, front side head/thorax airbags, driver and front passenger Beltminder® system, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Traction Control (TC), and Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). The FG has had huge success and has taken out many awards including Australia’s Best Large Car from and Car of the Year from Cars Guide and the winner of SAE-A’s Engineering Excellence Awards to name a few.
