Since opening in April 1999, the Ford Discovery Centre has entertained and educated a large number of school students. Displaying the car making process in a fun and hands-on way, the Ford Discovery Centre explores the historical links the Ford Motor Company has with Australia and Geelong. The Centre also outlines environmental and safety aspects of vehicle use as well as touching on the way in which the automotive manufacturing industry is heading into the future. Far more than just a motor museum, the Centre provides a unique ‘behind the scenes’ snap shot of the car-making process, from conception and design, to engineering, testing and production.
