School & Community Group Fundraisers

September 30th, 2009

The Centre has assisted with many donations to schools and fundraiser since its inception. Ourselves, a not for profit charitable trust, has delivered over $50,000 worth of admissions to the community since our opening. Donation of family passes to community groups has assisted many others in raising much valuable funds to their organisations.

With our endeavours to assist the community in fundraising activities we receive many requests for support from a wide range of individual’s community, educational and cultural groups. We acknowledge the importance of all requests though we cannot always accommodate given the many and varied pressures upon our business needs.

Hand Brake Turn

September 30th, 2009

The Ford discovery Centre is a proud supporter of Hand Brake Turn an organisation that is about giving disadvantaged young people a real opportunity to get their lives on track and carve out a successful pathway for the future.

The Centre opens its doors after hours for the students to meet their assigned community mentors and have a relaxed atmosphere with light food and drink to explore the automotive exhibits. The Centre is also made available to the students and teachers for tours during their course.

During their course students are taught automotive spray paint techniques and at their graduation students have the opportunity to display their works as part of the museums ongoing displays.

These bonnets are available for sale and proceeds go to the student.
