The Ford Discovery Centre is run by Ford Heritage Limited, an independent “Not for Profit Charitable Trust”. The trust has a board of six directors: two from Ford Australia, two from Deakin University and two community appointees.
Current board members are:

- Kevin Brown – Ford Motor Company Australia
- Graeme Dennehy – Deakin University
- Simon Barnes – Deakin University
- John Paxton - Gordon Institute of Tafe
- Vacant Position – Community Representative
- Secretary – Mark Giles Ford Discovery Centre
